What to Expect
Kick-start your self-driving adventure! Travel and explore at your own pace while searching for the perfect Christmas tree.
Your first stop is the Evergreen Express Headquarters, located at the Lincoln County Visitor Center in the historic Caliente Train Depot. There, you will pick up your reserved permit, receive directions, enjoy a warm drink, and a whole lot of small-town charm.
The experience includes an optional tour of the Caliente Train Depot and the Heritage Box Car museum.
Overview
- Time Commitment: Plan to spend a day traveling and exploring the scenic rural Lincoln County. The actual time spent searching for a tree can range from 30 minutes to a few hours.
- Participants: As many as you can comfortably fit in your vehicle while leaving room to haul your tree.

What to Expect
First, arrive at the Evergreen Express Headquarters in the historic Caliente Train Depot for your reserved permit, a warm drink, and small-town charm. You will then hop on the LCX passenger van and travel with our guide to designated cutting areas.
Experience the adventure without the wear and tear on your personal vehicle!
You are responsible for cutting your tree and bringing it back to the trailer. Once back at the Depot, we will assist in getting it loaded onto your vehicle. Includes an optional tour of the Depot and Heritage Box Car museum.

- Time Commitment: Plan to spend a full day traveling and exploring. The actual time out searching for a tree on the passenger van will be approximately 2.5 hours.
- Participants: Designed for a 4-person family (2 adults, 2 children).

- Round-trip ride to tree cutting areas in the LCX passenger van

Enhance your adventure with a holiday-decorated DIY (Discover It Yourself) Jeep, which you will pick up in Las Vegas. Enjoy optional scenic routes to the Evergreen Express Headquarters in Caliente.
This package includes the necessary permit and access to the backroads for your tree hunting adventure. You get the thrill of the hunt while driving a capable off-road vehicle provided by our partner, DIY.

- Time Commitment: Plan to spend a full day traveling and exploring. The time spent searching for a tree is typically around 2.5 hours once you reach the cutting area.
- Participants: Designed for a 4-person family (2 adults, 2 children).
